Petainer has started production of its one-way keg range in Thailand
The company becomes the first PET keg manufacturer in Southeast Asia to deliver kegs in Australasia in just a few weeks.
As announced back in September and despite strong adverse conditions, Petainer has carried on with the project of opening a production facility in the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand. It is located in the Bang Sao Thong district, Samut Prakan province, just a few kilometres away from the Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The new plant is also halfway between Bangkok and Laem Chabang port making it easy to quickly dispatch new orders.
The 500sqm meter building is located in the Bangkok Free Trade Zone, allowing tax-free trade. It hosts a blowing line able to deliver a 20ft container of kegs per day in phase one and will double its capacity end of Q1 2021.
We take pride in creating jobs in a difficult period, with a freshly hired team of six people manning the factory.
In the initial ramp-up phase, the plant will only manufacture the 20L Hybrid in A, D, G, and S fittings, coming with dust caps and pressure release tools. Before the end of Q1, we will also add one SKU: the 30L Hybrid in all fittings. The Petainer keg is also now available with a pressure release valve built in the fitting, which eliminates the risk of keg failure due to over-pressurisation.
From our Thailand base, our one-way kegs, Petainer PET Beer Bottles and PET Growlers can be dispatched in a couple of weeks to all Asia, Australia and New Zealand, cutting on cost, delivery lead time and carbon footprint.
