With a focus on both short-term and long-term objectives, we're dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, curbing water usage, achieving zero waste to landfill, and ultimately, attaining carbon neutrality. Our dedication to these goals fuels an ongoing journey of improvement in our sustainable practices.

Further underlining our commitment, our Lidköping Petainer site proudly boasts a Platinum EcoVadis Medal. This prestigious accolade places us within the top 1% of all EcoVadis-assessed companies, reflecting our steadfast adherence to sustainability principles. The rigorous assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria, categorised under four themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Achieving the Platinum medal in 2022 is a testament to our ongoing commitment, mirroring the achievements of the preceding year.

Deepening our commitment, two of our core manufacturing sites operate on renewable energy sources. This conscious choice significantly curtails carbon emissions stemming from our operations. Additionally, our dedication to transparency is manifest in our provision of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). These independently verified and registered documents communicate comprehensive, comparable insights into the life cycle environmental impact of our products, aligning with ISO 14025 standards.

A testament to our sustainable journey, Petainer has been incorporating up to 50% recycled PET into our packaging solutions since 2003. This dedication has evolved to encompass products with 100% rPET content, yielding remarkable results. By infusing rPET into our one-way and refillable small containers, we've facilitated a notable 20% reduction in our customers' carbon footprint in 2020 – an achievement that translates to a significant 24,000 tonnes of CO2 saved. This impressive feat is backed by our unique expertise in processing contaminant-free, food-grade rPET flakes, enabling us to deliver world-class sustainable preform solutions.

One notable partnership is our collaboration with the IVL in Sweden, resulting in the creation of the Petainer Carbon Footprint Calculator. This powerful tool empowers us to provide carbon footprint measurements for each portfolio product, supporting your broader business objectives and carbon reduction commitments.
